When you walk into the Concept Tiles showroom at The Royal Ordnance Depot in Weedon today, you’ll find carefully curated tile collections, inspirational displays and a team ready to help you bring your ideas to life.
But behind the showroom is a story of its own.
Over the last two years, Concept Tiles has undergone an exciting transformation. There has been a new location, a newly designed showroom, an organised on-site warehouse, new collections and plenty of hard work behind the scenes.
So, having introduced you to many of our tiles and some of the wonderful projects we've been fortunate enough to be part of, we thought it was time to introduce you to the people behind Concept Tiles.
Meet Scott & Danielle
At the heart of Concept Tiles are owners Scott and Danielle Morren, who took over the business two years ago with a clear ambition: to develop Concept Tiles into somewhere customers could come not simply to purchase tiles, but to find inspiration, explore ideas and receive genuinely personal advice for their project.
The last two years have certainly been busy.
One of the biggest changes has been relocating the entire Concept Tiles showroom and warehouse from Kettering to our new home at The Royal Ordnance Depot in Weedon, Northamptonshire.
And it wasn't simply a case of moving from one building to another.
Scott and Danielle have spent a great deal of time designing and developing the new showroom, creating a welcoming environment where customers can browse at their own pace, see tiles on display, compare colours and finishes and begin to imagine how different surfaces could look within their own homes.
Behind the scenes, just as much thought and effort has gone into organising our on-site warehouse, bringing the showroom and operational side of Concept Tiles together in one location.
The new home of Concept Tiles has been a very hands-on project for both Scott and Danielle and, like any good interior, it continues to evolve.
Business, Family & Everything In Between
Of course, there is life outside tiles too — although finding the time for it can sometimes be a challenge!
Scott and Danielle have four children between them, so life is rarely quiet. Balancing family life with running and developing the business keeps them incredibly busy, but Concept Tiles is very much a family affair, with the children getting involved and lending a hand with the business too.
For Scott, spare time usually involves something active.
He enjoys running, cycling and most sports and is certainly no stranger to a challenge. With an Ironman and numerous triathlons under his belt, determination and endurance are qualities that seem to follow him both inside and outside the business.
Danielle's idea of downtime is a little different. She loves films and reading, enjoys cooking and spending time with family, and is also a big rugby fan.
When time allows, one of her favourite ways to spend it is heading off with the family to watch Northampton Saints play — although with four children and a growing business, those opportunities don't always come around quite as often as she'd like!
Their interests outside work might be different, but Scott and Danielle share the same vision for Concept Tiles: to continue building a business that combines beautiful products with friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely personal service.
More Than a Tile Showroom
For us, Concept Tiles isn't simply about selling tiles.
We want the showroom to be somewhere you can come for ideas, inspiration and advice, whether you're creating a beautiful space at home or working on a larger commercial project.
Some customers walk through the door knowing precisely what they want. Others arrive with a photograph saved on their phone, a kitchen sample, a paint colour, an architectural plan, a mood board or perhaps just a vague idea of how they'd like their finished space to feel.
And that's absolutely fine.
In fact, it's one of the parts of the job we enjoy most.
We love taking those initial ideas and helping customers explore the colours, textures, formats and finishes that could bring everything together.
And while we love helping homeowners transform their spaces, our expertise extends to commercial projects too.
We work with customers on projects of all shapes and sizes, from individual rooms and residential renovations to larger developments and commercial environments. We understand that every project brings its own requirements, whether that's achieving a particular design aesthetic, selecting practical and durable surfaces or finding the right balance between style and functionality.
It could be a single bathroom or kitchen, a new extension, an outdoor entertaining space, an entire property or a commercial development.
Whatever the scale of the project, our approach remains the same: listen, understand the vision and help our customers find the right surfaces for their space.
Because whether it's a home or a commercial setting, we believe every space deserves thoughtful design, beautiful materials and attention to detail.
From Inspiration to Reality
A wonderful example of this was our clients Jo and Nathan, who came to Concept Tiles with an inspiration image showing us the look and feel they wanted to achieve for their new bathroom.
From that starting point, we helped translate their ideas into a finished scheme, eventually selecting our Stone Project Biscuit porcelain tiles, complemented by a sand-coloured grout, natural wooden vanity and beautiful antique brass details.
The finished bathroom is warm, elegant and timeless — but most importantly, it reflects the vision Jo and Nathan originally brought through our door.
Their words afterwards meant a great deal to us:
“We had a vision and the Team at Concept Tiles turned this into reality. We couldn't be happier with our new space.”
— Jo & Nathan, Concept Tiles Clients
For us, that's what Concept Tiles is all about.
Come and Meet Us
Whether you're at the very beginning of a project or already know exactly what you're looking for, you're always welcome at Concept Tiles.
Bring us your photographs, plans, samples, colours, mood boards or inspiration images and we'll help you explore the possibilities.
And if life is busy and you don't have time to visit us in person, you can also arrange a Virtual Appointment, allowing us to discuss your project and suitable tile options remotely.
After two incredibly busy years of developing the business, moving to Weedon and creating our new showroom and warehouse, we're proud of how far Concept Tiles has come.
But this is very much the beginning of the story.
We look forward to welcoming you, introducing you to the team and, hopefully, playing a small part in creating a space that you'll love for many years to come.
